• I have many journals that sit on the shelf at home. They chronicle many aspects of my life. I love to look through them, enjoying the things I have written or the pictures there in. It is my hope that as you look through these pages, that you too will enjoy the things placed so lovingly here.
It has been a journey that has seen me through many joys and a few heartaches. From the start of Crimson Chickadee and my growth as a person and as a photographer. From the realization that how many fans I have on my facebook page does not merit my worth, to the swelling in my heart as I hit publish to a post that I know will mean so much to the intended recipient.
I hope you join me often, with a good cup of coffee, and enjoy these pages as much as I do creating them.

The W Family | Mannville Family Photographer

Okay I’ll admit it…I like it inside when the air is chilly. Yes, I am a wimp. After a day of being outside shooting I was anxious to round up all my props, light a fire and cozy up for an evening of relaxation. I do however, have this crazy obsession with backing up my files as soon as I shoot them, so while my fire was  warming the air in the other room I settled in my office to load and backup all of my files from the day. As I was waiting I started browsing through the W family’s images. Up popped a screen to tell me my download had finished…I quickly dismissed it. I was so in love with the images I was looking at I was giddy. (any of my clients can verify that I do in fact let out a little excited EEK! when I like an image I see on the back of my camera!)

Momma W I wish I could show you more but unfortunately I can’t…so here are your sneak peeks…ones that as a mother tug at my heart strings. Enjoy!

Boys will be boys | Wainwright Child Photography

I must say that these two brothers were a pair of silly boys. I chuckled many times as they made the best smiling faces at me. They had some really good ones…and they even got their little sister to join in the fun too! It was fun to laugh and giggle with them. Children are such honest little people…and spending time being silly with them really makes me forget some of the adult stuff and see the joy and the beauty in life. It is sometimes so easy to forget to stop and enjoy the moment….something we should all do much more often.

Childhood wonder

When I was a little girl I loved to spend time at my grandparents farm. I would cry when it came time to leave, and I can remember more than one time being tricked into leaving. I loved the animals…they were my “friends”. If at any time I was missing the first place to look for me was the chicken coop. I know it is a strange place for a little girl to want to spend her time but I was fascinated with the chickens.

In the spring we got 26 chicks and I have seen history repeat itself…for Dolly LOVES her chickies.  This weekend has been a very special weekend for our chickies. We found our first eggs and Dolly could not have been more excited. I took her out to the chicken coop this morning to capture this moment in her childhood. I know when she is older she will cherish these fondly.

Momma’s little dolly

I was cleaning up some old files off of the computer and I came across this one of Dolly when she was 13 months. What a little sweetie…
I love it! I wonder how many canvases of her in my house is too many?
