• I have many journals that sit on the shelf at home. They chronicle many aspects of my life. I love to look through them, enjoying the things I have written or the pictures there in. It is my hope that as you look through these pages, that you too will enjoy the things placed so lovingly here.
It has been a journey that has seen me through many joys and a few heartaches. From the start of Crimson Chickadee and my growth as a person and as a photographer. From the realization that how many fans I have on my facebook page does not merit my worth, to the swelling in my heart as I hit publish to a post that I know will mean so much to the intended recipient.
I hope you join me often, with a good cup of coffee, and enjoy these pages as much as I do creating them.

The W Family | Mannville Family Photographer

Okay I’ll admit it…I like it inside when the air is chilly. Yes, I am a wimp. After a day of being outside shooting I was anxious to round up all my props, light a fire and cozy up for an evening of relaxation. I do however, have this crazy obsession with backing up my files as soon as I shoot them, so while my fire was  warming the air in the other room I settled in my office to load and backup all of my files from the day. As I was waiting I started browsing through the W family’s images. Up popped a screen to tell me my download had finished…I quickly dismissed it. I was so in love with the images I was looking at I was giddy. (any of my clients can verify that I do in fact let out a little excited EEK! when I like an image I see on the back of my camera!)

Momma W I wish I could show you more but unfortunately I can’t…so here are your sneak peeks…ones that as a mother tug at my heart strings. Enjoy!

Ladies Man

Little girls the world over never need to worry about having a pony to love…and to have him love them back.

He is here…

right in my pasture…

and he loves little girls…even ones that aren’t his person. (although Dolly will tell you differently!)

His heart is pure. He always has a hug for any little princess who ventures out to love him.

Beautiful Family | Lloydminster Family Photographer

Some sessions are a pile of laughs…and this one was one of them. Little miss was so cute! I just wanted to smooch her lil cheeks…and I wouldn’t have minded at all if mom and dad would have left her here…but she clearly was the apple of their eye, I don’t think any amount of convincing would have had them driving away with an empty vehicle!
Thanks to all three of you for coming out on such a chilly day!

Boys will be boys | Wainwright Child Photography

I must say that these two brothers were a pair of silly boys. I chuckled many times as they made the best smiling faces at me. They had some really good ones…and they even got their little sister to join in the fun too! It was fun to laugh and giggle with them. Children are such honest little people…and spending time being silly with them really makes me forget some of the adult stuff and see the joy and the beauty in life. It is sometimes so easy to forget to stop and enjoy the moment….something we should all do much more often.

A weekend of learning

This weekend CCP hosted the Heartfelt workshops on Saturday and Sunday. Both days had such a lovely and fun group of ladies, traveling from Wainwright, Irma, Lloyd, Lashburn, Hughenden and Edmonton! It was nice to meet those who were new and to catch up with those I hadn’t seen in a while.

When the ladies arrived they were greeted with vintage photos hanging in the trees and tucked all around the studio…they look so fun! I wish I could leave them outside like that all the time.

Once inside their swag awaited them! There were all sorts of goodies and a few coupons too! I kind of wished I was taking the class so I could take a bag home with me!

We spent some time inside the studio learning about our cameras and what makes them work the way they do…and then it was time to hit the trails and put that knowledge to use!
(ladies you didn’t really think I was carrying my camera around and NOT taking pictures of you…did you?!?! lol)

Thank you all for taking the time to come out and “play”! I hope you all learned lots!
