It is always nice to go away but there something to be said about the feeling that one has when they are going home. As I stood in line in the airport visiting with other passengers I had to chuckle to myself. All the weary and worn passengers heading home were the most anxious to get through the line. Most people were excited to go home and see their kids (guilty) and those who were old enough to have their children “out of the nest” were delighted at the fact that they would soon be sleeping in their own beds(also guilty)!
I have come to love the long walk down the concorse…every step brings a sense of determination…almost home…not long now. I will be honest with you, as I stood on the escalator descending down to the main floor, I saw my mom and dad standing there…I felt such a wave of emotion overwhelm me. They truly were a sight for sore eyes. (although they did look just as tired as me…my flight landed at 12:50!) I was excited to see them, to share my stories and experiences about my time away. I am also looking forward to sharing with you…
Where have I been?? Near Baltimore, Maryland…spending some glorious time away with 74, yes 74, other women photographers. We are Savvy Sisters…brought together by our love for photography.
It was beautiful there. It did rain a little…but I LOVE the rain so I was not disappointed with it. When the sun was shining it was soul soothing(especially since my updates from home told me how horrible the wind was here).

Jessica Grieves…it was so fun to see her workin her stuff! We have a totally different style but she rocks!!
Marta Locklear…one of my favorite photographers. I loved spending part of the afternoon with her!
Although I only posted Jessica and Marta there were other amazing ladies whose work I love and adore as well… Kelli France, Jodie Otte, Melanie Mauer, Catherine Clay and Mika Beth Edwards.
I better go deal with the laundry that is trying to bust out of my suitcase…before it explodes all over the bedroom. I will be posting some of the images I shot soon:)
