• I have many journals that sit on the shelf at home. They chronicle many aspects of my life. I love to look through them, enjoying the things I have written or the pictures there in. It is my hope that as you look through these pages, that you too will enjoy the things placed so lovingly here.
It has been a journey that has seen me through many joys and a few heartaches. From the start of Crimson Chickadee and my growth as a person and as a photographer. From the realization that how many fans I have on my facebook page does not merit my worth, to the swelling in my heart as I hit publish to a post that I know will mean so much to the intended recipient.
I hope you join me often, with a good cup of coffee, and enjoy these pages as much as I do creating them.

    {hugs}

Dragon eggs, a pony and some flowers

Memories…they are such a part of who we are. I have so many good memories from my childhood that  I would love to share with my kids. They are the kind of memories that cannot be shared through stories or by looking at a picture. You just cannot describe some things the way they feel in your heart. I made it a priority for myself to capture some of those memories of my children this summer, so that when they are grown with children of their own they can share more than a story or a picture. Right now I barely have a flower in my beds because Dolly loves to pick them…I often have a pony in the yard, since Dolly loves to play with him…and I have a huge pile of dragon eggs on my step. {aka rocks} I am excited to share her fusion piece with you and since I also want you to be able to do the same, all sessions booked will now include fusion coverage.

A storybook is described in the dictionary as a book containing a story or collection of stories intended for children or denoting something that is as idyllically perfect as things typically are in storybooks.

I have been gathering props and preparing for this for some time and I am so excited to finally share this with you.
Storybook sessions last as long as a regular session, are styled with extra details and include a 10×10 Storybook Album. They also include a special a la carte discount for storybook session clients! I will be booking limited sessions for the month of August only.

*four*

She was still sleeping as I came downstairs this morning. As I looked outside to our snow covered yard I thought back to the year she was born. The sun was shining so brightly. I was planting sweat peas in the yard with mom…anxiously waiting for the barely there contractions to hit full force.

From the moment she was born she has been as sweet as sugar…and independent!

The past four years she has brought so much joy into every life she touches.

Happy Birthday Dolly!!

Here is a look back on Dolly…

boy oh boy | east central alberta newborn photographer

I love having toddlers in the studio. They always remind me that an imagination is a wonderful thing to have…although I did find out that Mr. H’s dad was WAY better at building a house out of domino’s than I am!
It has been over a year since I last saw Mr.H and I was excited when he brought his new baby brother with.

Those big eyes are going to melt more than one heart!

And don’t you just love those squishy lips?

Congratulations M&L on the newest addition to your family. He is beautiful!

…someone is ONE! That is right, my favorite nephew had his first birthday this week…well he is my only nephew. I would love them all the same if I had more..HINT HINT!

This the cake Dolly made for him…which I was told he was WAY to clean and picky to get messy with….

MOM! Look…at what Auntie did! She stuck my hands right in the cake! For real! She did! I think she thinks I am going to get dirty!

Happy Birthday Mr. E!
