• I have many journals that sit on the shelf at home. They chronicle many aspects of my life. I love to look through them, enjoying the things I have written or the pictures there in. It is my hope that as you look through these pages, that you too will enjoy the things placed so lovingly here.
    It has been a journey that has seen me through many joys and a few heartaches. From the start of Crimson Chickadee and my growth as a person and as a photographer. From the realization that how many fans I have on my facebook page does not merit my worth, to the swelling in my heart as I hit publish to a post that I know will mean so much to the intended recipient.
    I hope you join me often, with a good cup of coffee, and enjoy these pages as much as I do creating them.

    {hugs}

two down…one to go

March, April and May…each holding learning experiences I will look back on and be thankful I was able to learn from such incredibly talented photographers. All three of my photography “get aways” hold something that the others do not. March was the Savvy Sisterhood and the Workshop on the Waterfront. If you follow the blog you will have already read about my time spent in Maryland and the fun I had there.

April brings us here…

When I first found out about Shannon Sewell and Jeff Holt having a workshop I was really excited…but when I found out it was in Red Deer I was over the moon. How cool is it that such amazing photographers could be so close?!?!

As I sat in the room and looked around at the other photographers I thought to myself how strange it is that we all could be there, sharing the same passion for photography and our businesses and the majority of us being from Alberta. My mind was a whirlwind of thoughts…most of those being curiosity as to why others are drawn to photography.

I went into this workshop wanting to come away with one objective. It was about 10 minutes into Jeff’s speech and I had it…he gave me exactly what I needed to hear and shortly after Shannon backed it up. Now I know you are wondering what was so profound that they could have shared that has had me unable to sleep with excitement. I can sum it up in one word

INDIVIDUALITY

yup that’s it.

How many times do we hear about someone who gave up stability to follow a dream? Not often enough.How often do we hear someone complaining about their job? To often!

I love doing what I do. I love meeting all of the families I have sessions with, and getting to share memories with them.

I love being able to use my camera as a way to channel my creativity…to be an artist. Maybe that is why I am always smiling when I have my camera in my hand.

I am an individual. I hope you enjoy watching me grow.
