• I have many journals that sit on the shelf at home. They chronicle many aspects of my life. I love to look through them, enjoying the things I have written or the pictures there in. It is my hope that as you look through these pages, that you too will enjoy the things placed so lovingly here.
    It has been a journey that has seen me through many joys and a few heartaches. From the start of Crimson Chickadee and my growth as a person and as a photographer. From the realization that how many fans I have on my facebook page does not merit my worth, to the swelling in my heart as I hit publish to a post that I know will mean so much to the intended recipient.
    I hope you join me often, with a good cup of coffee, and enjoy these pages as much as I do creating them.

    {hugs}

back online…but away for a few days

It all started Saturday morning…I made coffee and headed to the office to start up my computer. Right away I noticed I had no internet connection.  I tried to get it fixed but could not figure it out. I had planned on loading galleries and sneak peeks before the kids all awoke from their slumber. I spent the majority of the morning fusing with it and decided to leave it until Monday morning. I was busy getting my camera ready for my afternoon shoot when I heard a commotion from outside. It was the boys and from the panic in their voices I knew it was bad. I grabbed the cordless and headed out the door. I met Raceboy83 halfway across the yard. His face was the whitest I think I have ever seen it. I know he was talking to me but I was so intent on focusing on Raceboy82 that I do not remember what he said. Their fears and mine were confirmed when I got close enough to see. His arm was broken and he was in need of an ambulance. It was deja vu for the three of us. Raceboy82 has done this before…only on the other arm. He knew what was to come and was trying to be so brave. I am so proud of my little trooper. We are home from the city today. I can reaffirm my belief that the Stollery is the most wonderful hospital in Alberta. If you are ever there ( and I hope you never are! ) you can be confident in the care your child will receive. Raceboy82 may now be known as Wolverine, he has 2 rods from wrist to elbow from this latest incident. I asked the surgeon if I should be concerned about this boy and his bones. He looked at me from over the top of his glasses and replied “No mom, his bones are healthy as can be, I am afraid it is the activity level and the choices he makes”. Whew, that’s a relief…I think?!?

Raceboy82 wants to thanks everyone for their prayers and well wishes, the Vermilion Ambulance for their speedy arrival and his safe delivery to the city, the Vermilion Hospital staff as well as the staff from his stay in the Stollery for their kindness and wonderful care.

I will be replying to my emails and getting to those galleries and sneak peeks later this week. Thanks for you patience and understanding.

Nicole,
Sorry to hear of your emergency trip to the hospital with your son. Must say it brings back memories. There was more than one trip to emergency for a ‘mighty moto X’ participant! Glad that all is taken care of. We’ll be in touch.
