have all of us at Crimson Chickadee Photography been busy!!
There have been lots of changes around here. The tile is in…a big thank you to Vern for all of his help! (and to his family for lending him to us for a few days).  And to my parents for the late nights and hard work they have put in.   The place looks awesome!
Also I unpacked the studio lighting this week!  Looking forward to using it this next week.

Since I can’t post without a picture…here is one I took while I was just playing around with the other package I unpacked.

Meet Gunsmoke…

Sometimes in life there are times when you can sit back at the stupid things you have done and have a real good laugh. Today I did one of those things. After working hard on the reno’s all morning my mom and I sat down to have a quick bite to eat. As we sat at the table mom commented on how much the dogs were barking. Being in a preoccupied state I replied that they always bark at each other while they play. We continued to eat as the dogs barked like crazy. You must remember that I have a rottweiler and a great dane. They are not small dogs! As we got up to get back to work I took a peek out the window and was shocked by what I saw.
Standing on the TOP of the dog kennel was a coyote!
Now this is where I lost my normal level headed mind and went to lala land. I am normally very scared of coyotes. They are on my list of things that I could have a really bad nightmare about. Ha! Well apparently I love my dogs more than I fear coyotes! I grabbed a broom…yes a broom, and went out there to scare it away. The snow was up to my knees as I reached as far across the fence as I could and I whacked it…
Oh boy! The coyote looked at me like I was nuts. He was on a mission to eat my pups and I had so rudely interrupted!
By this time my mom is hollering from the house for me to get away from the coyote it could have rabies! ( I must add here that she still has her coffee cup in hand…she is not giving up that last sip of coffee for nothing! ) She keeps calling to me that I need to get the dogs inside. Reality has set in and I am now to scared to move. So here I am, standing in a snowbank with barefeet and holding a broom handle while a hungry coyote snarls at me.
Mom gets the dogs inside. It takes a lot of coaxing…they want so badly to finish this fight and I back my way back to the house. Once inside I look out and it is still there. Now I start to panic. What if it jumps inside the fence? I will never be able to get it out! ( there is no gate, only the door to the house ) So I grab my broom handle and head back out…but wait! the photographer in me takes over! I go back inside and trade my broom handle in for my camera!!! I start heading back out and I spy the hot dog sticks leaning against the house. I grab one and go on my way. I snap a few pics and decide enough is enough. I crawl inside the dog kennel and get underneath the coyote. I am yelling at it….”get outta here…you’re not welcome here” Hello?!?! Who says that??? Pfff! I guess me…
I poke it with the hot dog stick and it snarls and bites at me. I am sooo brave with the chicken wire between us…I poke it some more, it snarls, I poke it, it snarls, well you get it. I guess it finally decides it is bored with the crazy lady and jumps down. It runs through the field looking back at me as it does. It is laughing at me…I know it! I decide to call him gunsmoke…come this time tomorrow that is all he will be. Who is laughing now?? ME!! But only at my own stupidity…ummm… I will blame it on the paint fumes;)

At it again!

Get to know me Monday! yay!

This time around I am going to share with you my favourite colours.  I love black( I know technically it is not a colour) and grey.  I also like brown and robin egg blue.  Grey is the colour I have chosen for my logo.  I know it is green here…sometimes a little colour is good.  You will see the grey on all of your contracts and any paper product from us.  In fact I like grey and black so much I am doing the studio in those colours.  Yes that means I am renovating…again.  Maybe that will be my next about me post…I love to live in a renovators state!

Speaking of the renovating…  The trim is finally going up.  The entry and the office are getting the tile laid this coming weekend.  And guess what colour some of  the walls are??? Haha you guessed it…grey.  And the office  furniture…well here is a hint…
