Yearly Archives: 2008

Goodbye 2008…

When I started out with Crimson Chickadee Photography I had ideals that I knew I would always put at the forefront of my business. One of those was NOT to be the “friend of a friend” who has a fancy camera and tinkers with pictures. I wanted to give Wainwright and surrounding areas something new and different. Custom photography that was fresh, modern and fun. 2009 marks my third year as a company and I have spent the last couple of months deciding on a business plan that would take me above and beyond 2008. I am going to implement a lot of changes, some of them are for personal reasons and some are because I am listening to what you want. I want all of my clients (past and future) to feel like they are getting a totally unique and personal experience. The last few months have exceeded my expectations and I have been blessed with more clients than I anticipated. Like anything when you get busy something suffers and to avoid falling into the trap of being so busy my family life  and/or my end product  deteriorates I am putting forth the following…to fix a problem before it affects myself and you, my valued clients. So for 2009 my goal is to give you higher quality products and images in a shorter amount of time, along with these  changes I am putting in place…

You will now be able to purchase your high resolution digital negatives on CD.  You will still be able to order your prints through me but I want to focus on more custom items.  I will be announcing all of the new and exciting products SOON.

I will still focus primarily on available and natural light but I will be introducing studio lighting a little later in the year.

I am also setting things up so you will be able to use a gift registry along with the gift certificate program I already have.  That means all you brides will be able to direct your family and friends to the site as well maternity/newborn clients.  What a fun thing to present a new mom at a baby shower…a totally unique gift that will be cherished for years to come!

You will also be able to use credit cards to pay for your purchases.

Some of these changes you will see right away and other will take me awhile to get up and running.  There are others things I have in the works but until they are finalized I am going to keep them under my hat.  To finish off the year make sure you watch a year in review…a slideshow of some of my favourites from 2008.  Oh and check back tomorrow…I will be posting a new contest!!! Have a happy and safe New Year!

what’s this??|wainwright children’s photographer

Hope you are all enjoying the kids being home from school. I know Miss A has loved having her two big brothers around. Here is a moment I stole when they didn’t know mom was watching. The three of them enjoying raceboy83’s present he got this year. I wonder what they are watching??? It sure has all three of them enthralled! And the giggles coming from the room is music to my ears.

All through the house, not a creature was stirring…

…that is except for Sebastien and myself.

Wow…it is so cold outside that the trees are shivering!  I am very thankful to be inside where it is warm and comfy cosy…and there is fresh brewed coffee!

Every morning when I get up this is the first thing my eyes “see”.  I am not to sure why but I find great pleasure in looking at the highchair in this light.  I think it is because it is quiet and not full of a Miss A mess!  It looks so peaceful…

We are bundling up and heading to town for another family Christmas today. My cousin is here with his little munchkins. I love how families all gather at this time of the year. The kids  love to see all the family ( I think it is because of the presents! LOL) and the FOOD…I love to eat all my mom’s yummy cooking! Don’t tell her but we call her Martha when she is not listening :)   Enjoy your Sunday!

Get to know me Monday

I am starting something new…every Monday for the next little while I will be posting little tidbits about myself. This week I am going to tell you that I am elfin.
Impossible you say! Elves are not real!
Yes we are…we have just adapted to blend in. Sometimes there is a flaw in our attempt to fit into society and our genetic code appears unannounced. The proof of this flaw has appeared in myself and 2 of my 3 children. Here Miss A is sporting her flaw for you…

…you will notice the tip of her “elfin ear” has broke free. Now I do not want you to worry…we are very friendly folk. In fact it is at this time of the year that our cousins, The Christmas Elves, allow themselves to be seen. Those of you that are friends of mine on facebook know that it was my family Christmas this past weekend. Some of my cousins did appear, and although they are shy they have agreed to help me with something. Tomorrow I will be posting pictures of these cousins. They will be hiding and they want you to find them! Those of you who can correctly identify these elfin cousins will have your name entered into a draw.
That is all I am going to say for now. Check back tomorrow for details on how and what you can win!!!
