• I have many journals that sit on the shelf at home. They chronicle many aspects of my life. I love to look through them, enjoying the things I have written or the pictures there in. It is my hope that as you look through these pages, that you too will enjoy the things placed so lovingly here.
It has been a journey that has seen me through many joys and a few heartaches. From the start of Crimson Chickadee and my growth as a person and as a photographer. From the realization that how many fans I have on my facebook page does not merit my worth, to the swelling in my heart as I hit publish to a post that I know will mean so much to the intended recipient.
I hope you join me often, with a good cup of coffee, and enjoy these pages as much as I do creating them.

Happy Saturday everyone!

I am excited to have some lovely ladies in the studio today for another Heartfelt Workshop!

It is always so much fun!

And since no post is complete without an image…here is one from this past summer. Enjoy your weekend!

One Frame

On the way to the hockey game yesterday Raceboy83 looks at me and makes the profound statement that I am getting old. I laughed, agreed and then asked if he thought I was going to stay young forever. It really struck me as I was looking through the pictures I had taken at his game that he too is getting old. Where is the little boy who could barely stand, let alone skate? The one who needed mom to tie his skates? To carry his bag because it was twice his size?

kindred spirit

You know that saying that says that the eyes are the windows into a soul?

I see straight into his heart.

What speaks to you?

I was out taking images today for some of the assignments I am giving the ladies for the Emerge Workshop. While I was out I decided to feed the horses. I stood there for a couple of minutes listening to them munch away and I thought to myself how I find the sound of them eatingĀ  soothing. I sat down and snapped a few images of their muzzles. Hands down my favorite part of a horse. While I was there Cleveland decided to give Big Nik some love…I just kept snapping away.

I don’t know what it is about this picture but I get it…it gets me. Maybe I am odd to like a picture of a ponies nostril (good thing his personal hygiene is in check!) but I could blow this up huge and hang it in my house.
